Flagship Academy is a private school for Kindergarten through 8th grade students. We offer small classes, fully individualized programs and a proven curriculum.
Our dedicated and inspired staff provides a thorough academic program in a warm and stimulating environment the students truly love.
The staff of Flagship Academy believes that our primary purpose is to produce students who can competently apply what they have learned to their lives and in turn mature into good citizens.
To achieve this end we believe that:
- Learning should be an enjoyable, life-long avocation;
- Ethical conduct is the basis of happiness;
- A school should produce students well versed in the basics of reading, writing, mathematics and the physical sciences;
- A school should help students to learn to take personal responsibility for their actions;
- We should provide a school environment conducive to learning;
- Education should balance physical activity with academic study; and that
- Because no school can teach students everything they need to know, we recognize that it is our responsibility to teach students how to learn.
When a child has gotten behind in his or her schooling, traditional thought suggests retention, repeating grades, labeling and possibly behavior-modification drugs. We’re not traditional. We don’t do that. At Flagship Academy, we use the technology of study to pinpoint what information the student is missing, and we fill in that information to move him rapidly toward proficiency in a subject – without holding him back, without labels and without drugs.
